Mission Statement
The "Spirit of '76" Scholarship Fund was created by the Canton Class of 1976 to provide scholarships to the male and female graduating senior who most embodies the spirit of Canton High School, as well as their graduating class. The recipients are chosen by their peers to the Most School Spirit superlative.
The Canton Class of 1976 was established in 2011 as an unincorporated nonprofit association created under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
Bulldog Madness Golf Classic
The tournament is currently still on, pending restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
The Bulldog Madness Golf Classic is an annual golf tournament hosted by the Canton Class of 1976. This fun event is open to all golfers, regardless of whether or not they graduated in the Class of 1976.
The tournament this year will be held on Monday, September 14th at Wampatuck Country Club in Canton, MA. The "scramble-style" tournament is open to players of all skill levels, and will kick off with a 9 AM shotgun start. Afterwards, all players and guests are invited for dinner and the award presentations.
Spirit of ’76 Scholarship Fund
The year 1976 was highlighted by America's celebration of our country's Bicentennial. One of the more popular slogans that year was "spirit of '76", which was used to promote everything from KISS' US concert tour to a cheesy B-movie. It showed up on coins, stamps, belt buckles, commemorative plates, model railroad trains ... you name it.
